Hammerpress has a style that is unforgettable and unique. To me, it stands out among all your traditional letterpress designs. Having gone to the University of Kansas in Lawrence, I was able to visit the Hammerpress studio in Kansas City on a tour. It was very inspiring to see where all the magic happens. Hammerpress recently launched a new website and it is beautiful. Thought I would share some of my favorite pieces from them…

hen you buy a box of Ritz crackers, on the back of the box, they have all these suggestions as to what to put on top of the Ritz. “Try it with turkey and cheese. Try it with peanut butter.” But I like crackers man, that’s why I bought it, ’cause I like crackers! I don’t see a suggestion to put a Ritz on top of a Ritz. I didn’t buy them because they’re little edible plates! You’ve got no faith in the product itself.

Of course I had to use a quote from my favorite comedian, Mitch Hedberg, to show off these beautiful letters by typographer and illustrator Jessica Hische. Check out Daily Drop Cap to see the rest of her pretty alphabet!

I took a little break from my blog, mostly because after moving to Chicago I wasn’t sitting at a computer for 8 hours a day, but I am BACK. I have been meaning to post something for awhile and something actually triggered me to do it! And here is what it was. (has to do with food of course)

How interesting are these? Simon Attwater creates these “shopping losts” from people’s shopping lists that he finds! Love it.

If I could make sweetass packaging for beer like this, I would be doing it. But I can’t. So, I just drool over things like this when I see them. I automatically assume the beer is good when it has such an awesome label like the ones from Florida-based Bold City Brewery.

In west Philadelphia born and raised…. just kidding. Man what a great show though. Anways, I’ve been finding lots of cool stuff lately but not posting a damn thing so I am going get a few fresh prints out here that I’ve been eyeing. We’ll start off with this one by Bold & Noble.

Next up are some motivational posters by Right Brain Terrain. I love these and have this GROW poster as a background on my desktop at work, which you can download on their site. They also have a really great manifesto that you can read on their site. Here is just a little teaser…

Wow it’s been almost 3 weeks since my last post. Silly me. Well I’ve got some time today to make up for it. I hope this movie comes to a theater near me because I love Claymation and I’m excited for this film. Maybe because I am trying to figure out the meaning of life.
